The LINE-UP:
The Associate-John Grisham
The Memory Keeper's Daughter-Kim Edwards
The Girl in the Orange Dress: Margot Starbuck
look me in the eye-my life with asperger's-John Elder Robinson
The Red Scarf-Kate Furnivall
Little Children-Tom Perrotta
day trips from raleigh-durham, Ralph Grizzle and James L. Hoffman
The Abstinence Teacher-Tom Perrotta
The Appeal-John Grisham
In no particular order. I've started 3 and am reading them all at once. I've GOT to quit reading this way.
The line-up is quite fluffy. No hard core self-improvement, non fiction, or Christianity overload for the moment. Just fluff. Actually one is not so fluffy--But the prayer is that I'm not too introspective and I can just escape.
I love me some European Vacations. I really HATE the flying across the Atlantic Ocean component. I haven't figured out where to score some Valium or some other downer for next week's flight...I suppose an over-the-counter sleep aid of some kind will guide me into Istanbul with the Bo. What is wonderful about going to Europe is the TIME TO READ. Time not found on Stateside vacay. Not at the beach nor at the mountains. I seem to work on American Vacations.
The universal truth of me going abroad is that I READ. READ, READ and READ. I am not interuppted and I read on the planes, the buses and in my bed at night. I'm not tired from parenting and am just on HOLIDAY!
On the Austrian Trip--I read several books on the FLDS Cult in Utah and Texas...2 books authored by different Jessop women. Warren Jeffs is spooky and the FLDS woman make me sad. The hair and outfits leave me flabbergasted. It was great seeing inside that actual compound on Oprah this winter.
This summer...
a smitter smatter.

Hey, I know Margot Starbuck! I didn't know she had a book out...Let me know what you think.
"The Memory Keeper's Daughter" is excellent. I also highly recommend "The Sweet Potato Queens' First Big-Ass Novel". HIGHlarious. You'll love it. Promise.
