Elephant Hat: Priceless

Today was a zany day--Big Daddy ended up needing to go to Greensboro. Bit had her fifth day of American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and Bo had a championship South Durham Little League game. They won...so, we have to play the same team on Tuesday because it is a double elimination deal.

And then there was Toots and Me. We dumped Bo at the pregame warm up and head for Michael's Craft Store. I had 2 pieces of Pod-End-of-Year-Art that needed framing. And all the while I struggled with finding pre-made frames for the odd paper sizes of said art--Toots twiddled about at the dollar bins.

We were supposed to eat dinner with two families later that night, so Toots was loading up the cart with hats for all kids 8 and under. A dog for one and a tiger for another....and as always a matching elephant cap for the BFF, Bob. When we got to the check-out these adorable caps were not $1--rather $3.99. I bought one.

As we made our way home, I decided on an impulse to go to Prompt Med to have this red thing looked at under her eye. I should have saved my co-pay and gone straight to the dermatologist--fixable for sure, with the proper tools--or it will work itself away. Use a little steroid cream and water proof bandaids. I just needed the security of knowing it was going to implode during the two weeks Bo and I are on our big trip to the Mediterranean. I am free to go. She won't loose her eyesight.
Toots loves a costume. A mask. A hat. She doesn't care what anyone thinks...Toots loves it.
A lot of snuffling happened. A lot of elephant trunking and tooting sounds were made.

And then a lot of sleep happened. Toots makes even a $3.99 felt hat seem priceless.
