Weenie is my "cooker." That is what she says that I said when I was little. There has been a flurry of activity here these last two weeks. Jenna and I completed the Triathlon as planned on October 21, 2007. It was particularly fun because her dear friend, Lydia Parker, and her mom did it too. I gained a smidge of time in my swim and bike...but who cares... I did it!
This past weekend.... we lived FIESTA del Toots! Cowabunga is 7 years old. Holly celebrated till the cows came home. In my opinion, this is the best birthday she ever had.... not just in what she received but in how she lived it. It was a real treat to be able to give her things that align with what her interests are! We had a Bug party at the Museum of Life and Science. What is it with people that don't RSVP...that is so rude. I have no capacity for it. Yet... you kinda like the kids but you think, "what the he$$" with the parents.
Weenie arrived on the Amtrak train, this past Friday evening, to usher in the Birthday fiesta and stay for Halloween. Weenie has a real name...but to me, she is Weenie Jones. She was planning to leave this Friday morning...but we've bumped that to Sunday morning because we've got things to do this Saturday night...We're going to the Bouncing Bulldog 18th Annual Workshop Spectacular. We're going to see Japanese Double Dutch troops do Fusion....fun! Come with us if you want.
In the midst of all this... I engaged in Facebook. My friend, Susan, from NYC...sent the initial invite...and I thought...do I really want to be 8th grade and do this? I think of the scum-waud girls at the Bit's school and "they do Facebook"....However...that is just not the case. I've spent more time than I should scouring... Facebook. Kids that I knew 10-15 years ago are GROWN....it is fascinating. I still don't know if I want it as an option for the Bit, though.
I've gone back to Charlie. Things are just a little too shaky. I think we are saying... I've got no emotional margin. That is a very accurate statement. Did I say that we are dumping the SAX? Wahoo....when one has little emotional margin, the sax doesn't help create a fuse. What next, the xylophone or the ukulele?
Well.... Weenie and I need to deliver onions, carrots, celery and tomato paste to the first grade to make soup for tomorrow's Leonardo Day. Apparently, some other parents forget to send their standard issue ingredients. Then who knows what we'll do? Weenie's here...Weenie's here. yeah.
